I can’t believe it — June slipped by so fast, keeping me busy with gigs and family, and next thing you know it’s July. Then I was busy with gigs, family, and Hot August Jazz.
I’m back doing the newsletter for the jazz club and helping with Hot August Jazz. It’s the 22nd festival and will be held on Sunday, 30th August, from noon to midnight in 11 venues around North Hobart. It’s a FREE event, so come on down!
I finally got to do some more writing. I’m getting very excited about this story — it’s hard to explain why, I just love creating characters, imaginary towns and spirits.
I’m also reading some Dolores Cannon. She writes a lot about our spiritual wellbeing. I’ve always believed in our Goddess within — she gives us the strength to go forward, gain wisdom, and not put up with all the shit people try to pass onto you. Well, you know what I mean. We’re all different, we have different opinions, and who’s to say who is right or wrong?
As an individual, I need to set goals and act on them to give myself the confidence to face the world. But most importantly, that confidence helps me tune out all the negative energy around me — and there’s a lot of it.
I did get some lovely feedback from a few people telling me how much they enjoyed my short story, “Have You Married a C**t?” It’s one of three short stories in my third book, Tales from Beyond the Ordinary, available at Fullers Bookshop and on Amazon.
Now August is about to be upon us. I hope the weather warms up and spring knocks on the door soon.
I’m looking forward to being in Burnie to play some music with the wonderful Wendy Moles at Communion Brew on Friday, 7th August. I’ve also got a couple of private gigs, then Hot August Jazz.
Love to see you there. Until next time, stay warm and spread the love.
