PART TWO. (March 2026)

Wow, this is blowing my mind. I am so pleased that you were excited enough to read, and even respond to my first blog. I will endeavour to answer your questions and fill in some of the blanks.
Firstly, yes, I am still performing. Music is and will always be my first love (maybe I should include my kids and husband in that list).
I have also been a songwriter all my life, just never performed more than a few of them.
As I wrote in my book (BUT I THOUGHT), it is so hard to be a full time musician and also be a mother, keep a roof over your head and feed the family without help or having to get a second job.
On top of this, your appearance is important. So a tired disheveled mother does not fit the criteria for an entertainer.
Writing novels was my next step where I could still create but it can be done in my PJ’s if I wanted.
Therefore, I do most of my writing while we are off camping. Trying to find a space between my bookings and my husband’s concerts (he is also a musician) is sometimes difficult. We avoid long weekends for camping as they are so crowded. Then there is the weather. Argh!!!
We had planned a trip at a beach recently for 5 sleeps, but it started raining on the second night and then the wind came so we packed up and came home.
Still managed to do some writing. I am about a third of the way into book number four but now have other commitments so it will be April before I get back to it.
Because the music work is so scarce, I take as many jobs as I get offered because I need the money. The life of a musician is mostly counting the penny’s and counting on the next gig.
Heading to St Helens for 2 gigs – Friday 27th March – 12noon at St Helens Football Club and 7.30pm at Panorama. In Launceston on Tuesday 31st March for my Delightful Divas show at the Australian Italian Club (Prospect).
That’s enough of me flapping my gums. Till April….
